Refined carbohydrates, such as cakes, white bread, chocolate, pizza, pies, biscuits etc., carry a large amount of sugar, which is quickly released from the digestive system and deposited into the blood stream. Insulin is released to pick up the sugar, now converted to glucose, and transport it to the cells of the body, where it is used as energy. Because so much sugar has been dumped into the bloodstream at one time, insulin cannot cope with it all. What isn’t transported to the cells is stored as fat. Eventually insulin becomes weak and ineffective. If left unchecked, this can lead to conditions like Metabolic Syndrome or Syndrome X. Type II Diabetes followed by insulin dependant Type I Diabetes may well eventually result.

Poorly balanced blood sugar levels lead to lack of energy, poor sleep, head-aches, anxiety and mood swings as well as weight gain!

The Sureslim Programme is based around complex carbohydrates, lean good quality protein, and essential fatty acids. These foods release their energy slowly and consistently allowing just the right amount of insulin to be released. All the glucose is effectively transported to the cells and none stored as fat.

Well balances blood sugar levels result in stable mood, better sleep, increased energy and weight loss!

I know many successful dieters. With each new fad/celebrity diet they consistently end up putting back all the weight lost with added interest? Why is this? Some of these diets are simply not sustainable. They can be restrictive and calorie deficient to the detriment of overall health. We need food for energy and well-being; both physically and mentally. Calorie restrictive diets will cause the metabolism to slow down, thus hampering weight loss. Some diets do cause weight to drop off dramatically at first. Sadly what is lost is fluid and protein (muscle), fat stays put. Ideally the body needs more muscle tissue than fat. Fat is inert and takes up space whereas protein is continually using up energy even at rest. Loss of fluid is bad too; leading to dehydration, which can put strain on the kidneys.

Sureslim aims at achieving a weight (fat) loss of 10 pounds per month. Consistent weight loss, at this rate, is not only safe but more likely to stay off long-term.

Sureslim is successful because weight comes off and stays off! The programme is based around three balanced meals a day incorporating quality ingredients from all the food groups namely carbohydrates, proteins and fats. There are no meal replacements bars, soups, shakes or pills just normal food available from supermarkets or shops. Client’s don’t feel deprived and hungry. Each programme is uniquely tailored to the specific needs of the client according to their blood test results. No programme is the same. It is not a ‘one fits all’ approach. Sureslim also offers their clients one-to-one support with a trained consultant throughout the duration of their contract. Clients are weighed and measured, in private, on a regular basis. Confidentiality is sacrosanct.

Sureslim also offers ongoing maintenance support and advice on how to keep the weight off. There is access to online support plus recipes. We also hope that after being on the programme our clients will be more educated about food and what constitutes healthy eating.
