Structural Integration

Oriental Acupressure

Who Needs Structural Therapy?

Anyone who:

  • Suffers from chronic aches or pains in the body
  • Suffers from chronic headache or migraine
  • Has “repeat” injuries through sport or accident
  • Has post-pregnancy problems
  • Suffers from chronic work or life stress

How Does it Work?

Injury, chronic tension or imbalance in the body, can have many causes. These strains can spread to other parts of the body, which learns to compensate for them.

Based on the pioneering work of Dr. Ida Rolf, with significant developments from Tom Myers about soft tissue pattersn, the treatment works on ‘lines’ of tissue in the body, along which strain and compensation can be followed – and released.

Structural Therapy treatments can help to restore natural posture and release restrictions of body use and performance. Clients often report feeling “more at home” within their body.

How Many Sessions?

In a series of either 4 or 12 focused sessions, it is possible to release deep-set restrictions throughout the body.

The Practitioner uses the client’s body-mechanics and movements to release the restrictions more easily.

Structural Therapy is an excellent complement to many other therapies, especially Chiropractic, Osteopathy and Phyisotherapy.

What Are The Benefits?

The sessions aid the client’s feeling of balance, length and being ‘at home’ in the body.

They aim to give optimum ease of body-use for each individual.

  • Improved freedom of movement
  • Improved co-ordination
  • Easier breathing
  • Increased energy
  • Relief from chronic pain
  • Postural change
  • Relief from specific conditions
  • Reduced stress levels
  • Increased calmness
  • Improved sense of well-being
